IWSG-Blogging Topics

In case this is your first time hearing about us, our wonderful group, founded by our awesome 'Ninja' great Alex J. Cavanaugh, meets once a month to encourage and inspire one another through our writing journeys. It's real simple to join us. Go here to sign up and visit a few of the blogs listed. Leave some encouragement as your words could make a difference in someone's life. And feel free to post one of your own.

The last time I posted for IWSG, it was back in January. Since then, it's been merely a juggling act in my life: letting go of some things while taking on more responsibility with other things, revamping my entire schedule, taking care of my grandchild, etc. Blogging was one I had to let go for awhile.

But, now I'm back. And my insecurity for the month is finding topics to blog about. Oh sure, there are all kinds of topics, but I don't want to put anyone to sleep, lol.  Part of the schedule revamping includes attempting to post at least once a week from now on ... ahead of time.

Of course, I've had writer's block while working on a WIP, but whiling blogging? Never. Not until now. It's kind of like stage fright. I want to be able to engage my blogging readers, to have topics they might enjoy reading. It's great if they comment, too. But, I will definitely settle for simply reading.

So, this is my challenge for the month. Four posts, including this one, set up and scheduled to post. To engage my readers ... to entertain ... to have them return for each new post ... to win back the ones who have drifted away due to my lack of blogging.

I think I may be up for the challenge ...

  1. I know what you mean. Usually, I just knock off a post after a few minutes' thought. Now work and writing keeps me so busy I can barely spare a thought towards today's blogging topics.

    Can't complain, though.

  2. Good luck with your challenge :) A few months ago I changed my blogging and now have a schedule, and I've found it much easier!

  3. Glad you're back into the IWSG again. I get what you're saying about keeping up with blog posts. I can usually come up with something to say on a weekly basis, but finding the time to write it in a coherent post can be time consuming. I'm sure you'll succeed with your blogging goals.

  5. Sometimes its hard to come up with something new to blog about. For me, when in doubt, check out other bloggers and see what inspires you.

  8. I've been getting this way with blogging too, then I'll think of a post and hurry to write it before it disappears LOL. What I don't like is those posts that say, "I don't have anything to say, sorry!"

  9. Yes. I feel the same way. Does my blog even matter to anyone? But I think we *should* find joy in the process.

  10. Doing a (grammar) series helped me some with ideas. I also write and save stuff ahead of time when I'm inspired. Between that and the typical cover reveals and hops that come up, I usually keep my blog schedule pretty full.

Welcome (back) to the group! :)

  12. I can't always think of a topic to write about either, but for some reason going through photos on Flickr usually inspires something. Some metaphor gets triggered in my brain, and voila! I got something! But, yeah, I only blog once a week right now. More than that and I'd have a hard time figuring out what to say. :)

    Welcome back to the blogosphere!

  13. I'm sure you're up for the challenge. Just when I think I'm tapped dry of ideas, they come flooding in. The brain is funny that way.

Thanks for visiting, so that I could find and follow your real world.

    Be well.
