First Loves Blog Fest
Today is the First Loves Blog Fest! And I'm willing to share with everyone my first loves: first person, first movie, first book, and first band/singer.
And if you want to hop on the First Loves band wagon, just go here to sign on up and blog about your first loves.
My first true love: His name is Shelby. I chased him throughout our entire middle school days. All three years. Finally, in eighth grade at a school dance, he finally said he wanted to date me!! I thought he might have been humoring me that night just to shut me up, but alas come the next day at school he talked to me, carried my books, and walked me to most of my classes. The next year, however, he set his sights on the next girl and I walked away broken hearted. I'm glad now for it all happening.
My first love of a book:
My first love of a band: It was Duran Duran. Yup, I went gaga for those guys. I bought all the teen magazines and hung every picture I could get my hands on all over my bedroom wall. My fave song from them?
Here it is:
My first movie: Hands down, it was Footloose. And I still watch it to this day!!

Believe it or not, I've never read Gone With the Wind or seen the movie.
ReplyDeleteSo the remake of Footloose didn't ruin it for you?
ReplyDeleteThanks for participating in my blogfest!
I haven't watched the remake fearing it would ruin it.
DeleteOh Gone With The Wind! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteThanks Danielle.
DeleteShelby sounds so sweet!
ReplyDeleteAnd Gone With The Wind is one of my favourites, both book and movie.
He was.
DeleteI still haven't read Gone With The Wind! And you'll probably not be impressed when you hear that I've only watched the new Footloose and not the old one!
ReplyDeleteA lot have only watched the new one. Now go watch the original.
DeleteI love these, especially Footloose and Gone With The Wind. Great choices!
ReplyDeleteThank you Dana
DeleteI kind of liked Footloose myself. *blushes*
ReplyDeleteThumbs up!
DeleteI recently watched Footloose and I was surprised by how good it was. Kevin Bacon gets the thumbs up for 80s awesomeness, though he's still second to Bowie :)
ReplyDeleteI tend to agree with you. Bowie is awesome.
Deletefootloose was good, i like it better than most of these types of films. now i have to cut loose...
ReplyDeleteWe all love something...right!

Lol.
DeleteI was (still am!) a big Duran Duran fan. Footloose is so much fun too!
ReplyDeleteI listen to country most times, but I always migrate to Duran Duran still.
DeleteI was a Duranie and also LOVED Footloose!
ReplyDeleteAwww on the the first love heart crush. :( Maybe she got cooties j/k I do love your book choice which is also a classic movie. Great love story too. Loved reading your First Loves
ReplyDeleteCooties!! Lol.
DeleteWhen I hear Footloose I have to dance. Last time, it was in the gym where I work - luckily their were no customers because I star-jumped off the treadmill :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd now the song's in my head.
Dare I ask whether you watched the remake? (I didn't, by the way!)
I haven't watched the remake. I'm too afraid it'll ruin it for me.
DeleteGone With the Wind--now there's a classic!
ReplyDeleteI so agree. Thanks for stopping by.
Deletebest duran duran song!
ReplyDeleteDuran Duran is awesome, I love that song too! Sorry to hear about the craziness of your first love. It is kinda fun looking back on those things though. Its easier to remember the good than the bad I think. :)
ReplyDeleteAndrea
Yeah. Now I look back and laugh. He was so funny at times. He said something stupid in a mall one day and nearly got his butt kicked by a group of guys. Lol that was hilarious because he really didn't say they sucked.
DeleteFootloose was great! But then again, it had Kevin Bacon so it had to be great!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it just wouldn't be the same without him.
DeleteAh, Footloose! My hubs was in that play in HS. The band pit... haha!
ReplyDeleteFootloose was a good movie, but as you know I chose Dirty Dancing!
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I struggled between the two.
DeleteOkay, can't find a Twitter or email account you have to notify you this way. Check out my blog post today and pick up your award! :-)

English Speaking Zone
It definitely was a stepping stone so to speak.
DeleteSorry I'm late! I had my hair done like John Taylor with the blonde streak swept across the front! Loved Andy Taylor with all my heart.
ReplyDeleteExcellent picks.
Thanks for sharing with us.
Heather
Lol that's great!
DeleteDuran Duran is a great choice! :) I still haven't read Gone With the Wind - I think I've heard too much about it to want to pick it up :)
ReplyDeleteI can understand that.
DeleteI still watch Footloose, and hold it as one of my favorites, too. Also, being a total geek about it, I have the soundtrack in my car. Stuck in traffic? Bust out with Footloose!
