First Loves Blog Fest
Today is the First Loves Blog Fest! And I'm willing to share with everyone my first loves: first person, first movie, first book, and first band/singer.
And if you want to hop on the First Loves band wagon, just go here to sign on up and blog about your first loves.
My first true love: His name is Shelby. I chased him throughout our entire middle school days. All three years. Finally, in eighth grade at a school dance, he finally said he wanted to date me!! I thought he might have been humoring me that night just to shut me up, but alas come the next day at school he talked to me, carried my books, and walked me to most of my classes. The next year, however, he set his sights on the next girl and I walked away broken hearted. I'm glad now for it all happening.
My first love of a book:
My first love of a band: It was Duran Duran. Yup, I went gaga for those guys. I bought all the teen magazines and hung every picture I could get my hands on all over my bedroom wall. My fave song from them?
Here it is:
My first movie: Hands down, it was Footloose. And I still watch it to this day!!

Believe it or not, I've never read Gone With the Wind or seen the movie.ReplyDelete
So the remake of Footloose didn't ruin it for you?ReplyDelete
Thanks for participating in my blogfest!
I haven't watched the remake fearing it would ruin it.Delete
Oh Gone With The Wind! Great pick!ReplyDelete
Shelby sounds so sweet!ReplyDelete
And Gone With The Wind is one of my favourites, both book and movie.
I still haven't read Gone With The Wind! And you'll probably not be impressed when you hear that I've only watched the new Footloose and not the old one!ReplyDelete
A lot have only watched the new one. Now go watch the original.Delete
I love these, especially Footloose and Gone With The Wind. Great choices!ReplyDelete
Thank you DanaDelete
I kind of liked Footloose myself. *blushes*ReplyDelete
I recently watched Footloose and I was surprised by how good it was. Kevin Bacon gets the thumbs up for 80s awesomeness, though he's still second to Bowie :)ReplyDelete
I tend to agree with you. Bowie is awesome.Delete
footloose was good, i like it better than most of these types of films. now i have to cut loose...ReplyDelete
We all love something...right!
Howlin' Wolf Records: On-Line Magazine
I was (still am!) a big Duran Duran fan. Footloose is so much fun too!ReplyDelete
I listen to country most times, but I always migrate to Duran Duran still.Delete
I was a Duranie and also LOVED Footloose!ReplyDelete
Awww on the the first love heart crush. :( Maybe she got cooties j/k I do love your book choice which is also a classic movie. Great love story too. Loved reading your First LovesReplyDelete
When I hear Footloose I have to dance. Last time, it was in the gym where I work - luckily their were no customers because I star-jumped off the treadmill :-)ReplyDelete
And now the song's in my head.
Dare I ask whether you watched the remake? (I didn't, by the way!)
I haven't watched the remake. I'm too afraid it'll ruin it for me.Delete
Gone With the Wind--now there's a classic!ReplyDelete
I so agree. Thanks for stopping by.Delete
best duran duran song!ReplyDelete
Duran Duran is awesome, I love that song too! Sorry to hear about the craziness of your first love. It is kinda fun looking back on those things though. Its easier to remember the good than the bad I think. :)ReplyDelete
Yeah. Now I look back and laugh. He was so funny at times. He said something stupid in a mall one day and nearly got his butt kicked by a group of guys. Lol that was hilarious because he really didn't say they sucked.Delete
Footloose was great! But then again, it had Kevin Bacon so it had to be great!ReplyDelete
Yeah, it just wouldn't be the same without him.Delete
Ah, Footloose! My hubs was in that play in HS. The band pit... haha!ReplyDelete
Footloose was a good movie, but as you know I chose Dirty Dancing!ReplyDelete
As you know, I struggled between the two.Delete
Okay, can't find a Twitter or email account you have to notify you this way. Check out my blog post today and pick up your award! :-)ReplyDelete
Thank you Donna! Will display with pride :)Delete
oh yes, those young boys seem be like that... sorry for your broken heart, but I'm sure it was something that helped shape you.ReplyDelete
Sharing the Love!
English Speaking Zone
It definitely was a stepping stone so to speak.Delete
Sorry I'm late! I had my hair done like John Taylor with the blonde streak swept across the front! Loved Andy Taylor with all my heart.ReplyDelete
Thanks for sharing with us.
Lol that's great!Delete
Duran Duran is a great choice! :) I still haven't read Gone With the Wind - I think I've heard too much about it to want to pick it up :)ReplyDelete
I can understand that.Delete
I still watch Footloose, and hold it as one of my favorites, too. Also, being a total geek about it, I have the soundtrack in my car. Stuck in traffic? Bust out with Footloose!ReplyDelete
